Hanoi City Tour

Begin your tour at the Ho Chi Minh Museum and Mausoleum.· Designed to resemble a lotus flower, this imposing complex memorializes Vietnam's revolutionary leader, and the nation he inspired. Contrast the traditional architecture and tranquil setting of Ho Chi Minh's house on stilts with the stately French-colonial Presidential Palace-both residences of this influential man. A short walk through the park, you visit the 11th-century One-Pillar Pagoda, an elegant structure. Your next stop - built in 1070 AD as a Confucian temple - is Vietnam's first university, the Temple of Literature. Follows by a visit to the Ethnology Museum-both a research centre and a public museum exhibiting the ethnic groups of Vietnam. Enjoy a cylco ride (a "bicycle taxi" pedaled by a driver behind you) through Hanoi's Old Quarter-a district known for its artisans, merchants, and colorful silk shops. Finish your day at the Thang Long Theater for a unique water puppet show.
